Due to the long list of game-changing features, it was natural for some bugs to also sneak into the Minecraft 1.18 update. Developers are working on Minecraft's 1.18.1 update, which will fix multiple bugs; improving the fog system and render distance.
Today, Mojang launched release candidate 2 for Minecraft 1.18.1 update. Mojang plans to release this bug fix update this week. Hopefully, the second release candidate won't affect the plans, as it only fixed one bug.
Unlike Bedrock players, Java players do not need to register for beta testing to try the upcoming features and changes. Minecraft 1.18.1 release candidate 2 can be downloaded using the official Minecraft launcher. Follow these steps to download the newly launched release candidate:
After the launcher downloads all the required files, it will launch the 1.18.1 release candidate 2. The second release candidate only features one bug fix. Here are the changes and fixes revealed in release candidates so far:
Been using Zwift for years and all of a sudden the app will not launch on my Macbook Pro anymore. Installing Docker Desktop 4.5.0 from scratch has a bug which defaults Docker Desktop to use the Hyper-V backend instead of WSL 2. This means, Windows Home users will not be able to start Docker Desktop as WSL 2 is the only supported backend. To work around this issue, you must uninstall 4.5.0 from your machine and then download and install Docker Desktop 4.5.1 or a higher version. Alternatively, you can edit the Docker Desktop settings.json file located at %APPDATA%\Docker\settings.json and manually switch the value of the wslEngineEnabled field to true.
When upgrading from 4.1.0, the Docker menu does not change to Update and restart so you can just wait for the download to complete (icon changes) and then select Restart. This bug is fixed in 4.1.1, for future upgrades.

Additionally, the language of the manual has been updated throughout to be gender neutral. Guidance and examples in numerous chapters and appendices have been revised for clarification and to reflect current regulations and best practices. Due to the scope of the revisions, CMS will not issue Replacement Pages for v1.18.11; those wishing to continue using a physical copy of the manual are encouraged to print the new version.
